Vocational Service
|
What is a Vocational Talk? Every Rotarian is asked to give a 4 to 5 minute talk regarding their vocation. As a reminder your vocation is about the business that you are in and not your occupation within the business. What is the purpose? It is helpful for everyone to get to know their fellow Rotarians better and to advance the worthiness of everyone's vocation. When? On the first meeting of each month a Rotarian with 2 or more years in Rotary will speak. On the third meeting every month the newest Rotarians will have the opportunity to talk. You will receive 1-2 weeks advance notice. Guidelines? Your talk should include a brief background of your education, vocation, etc. before your current vocation. Talk about what led you to your current vocation and an overview of what it is. Include anecdotes and brief interesting stories. Finish with a summary of your family life. Contact Jim Bissonett if you needed further information!
